Friday April 29: Sherpa Trouble on Everest: Jennifer Peedom
Award winning documentary maker Jennifer Peedom’s stunningly shot and suspense filled feature length documentary Sherpa is a sensitive exploration of the complicated dynamics on (Mount Everest) that is ever increasingly becoming a big business.
With a substantial slate of high-altitude productions such as Everest: Beyond the Limit, Miracle on Everest, Solo--which she co-directed with David Michôd--and Living the End already in the can, Sherpa is Jennifer’s most recent feature length doco which was selected for competition at Sydney, Melbourne, Telluride, BFI London and Toronto film festivals in 2015.
Jennifer will share with host Giles Hardie her approach and commitment to the craft of documentary as well as her choices to literally put the people most ‘often left on the cutting room floor’ at the heart of her Everest narratives along with insights into the practicalities of high altitude filmmaking.
Guest: Jennifer Peedom
