The Versatile Director: Matthew Saville

Matthew Saville is a multi-award winning film and television writer and director who works across film, television, drama and comedy, with his most recent projects including; A Month of Sundays, Felony, The Slap, Cloudstreet and Please Like Me.

Matthew's feature film debut, Noise, premiered internationally at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival and then went on to win numerous awards locally. He has also directed landmark television programs including The King; The Secret Life of Us; Tangle and We Can Be Heroes. Diverse in his practice and the projects he takes on, Matthew is equally adept at adapting novels for the screen, such as Tim Winton's Cloudstreet and Christos Tsioklas's The Slap, and then turning his hand and mind to directing comedy, collaborating with the likes of Stephen Curry, Chris Lilley and Shaun Micallef.

Matt will share his ideas about the craft of directing and creating compelling screen stories with host James Hewison.
