ALIEN PROOF CONSTRUCTION
Not your average construction company, Alien Proof Construction is a hybrid, equal parts old-school skill and up-to-the-minute solutions – from intricate joinery at the mercy of a zoom lens, to a petrol-bombed, flooded caravan for a music video,
Headed up by Construction Manager Ran Stanton, our inner Sydney St Peters based set-up includes a talented crew of set builders, steelworkers, propsmakers, special effects artists, scenics, art department, vehicle customisation and more.
With over 35 years’ experience at the coalface of the Australian film, TV, theatre and entertainment industries – from Farscape to 2024’s epic bush musical The Deb – we know what it takes to get the job done. We have an innate knowledge of on-set etiquette, interpreting direction, camera angles and location scope, and we work on getting the fastest turnaround from build to shoot, on time and on budget.
From inner-city studio sets to building from the ground up in remote outback areas, we’ve got form in construction management:
Last King of The Cross: Alien Proof built 100m of Kings Cross in the 80s – out west in a carpark, from the gutter up…
The Drover’s Wife: Everton’s settler village, and Molly’s High-Country world brought to life using traditional slab-hut methods.
Bran Nue Dae: Alien Proof turned back time on Broome’s main street, remaking it in the 1950s.
Life on the Line: Todd Sampson faced a one-tonne wrecking ball, a flame carousel, a phone-book bungy, and a 100+-helium-balloon lift. He survived.
My Kitchen Rules: Eight seasons of stadium-kitchen studio builds.
C*A*U*G*H*T: We brought Behati Prinsloo – a fictitious country in a non-disclosed Asian archipelago – to life.
